Solid Wood Flooring
Solid wood flooring comes in 3 types: strip flooring, parquet flooring, and plank flooring; all available finished or pre-finished.
Strip flooring is defined by the width and thickness of the wood planks. Though it has a set width, the thickness is variable. Thicknesses range from 5/16 of an inch to 3/4 of an inch wide. There are only 3 widths: 1.5 inches, 2 inches, and 2.25 inches.
Parquet flooring is comprised of geometric patterns made with individual wood slats which are held together with adhesives or mechanical fastenings, giving it a very different look than traditional hard wood floors.
Plank flooring is available in only 2 thicknesses, however the widths can vary. The options for thickness are 0.5 inches and .75 inches, with widths randing from 3 to 8 inches.
Engineered Wood Flooring
Engineered wood flooring contains a composition of plastic laminate and real wood, adhering the layers of veneer to the wood. Unlike laminate wood flooring, engineered wood flooring contains real wood.
Acrylic Impregnated Wood Flooring
Generaly used in commercial properties, acrylic impregnated wood is combined with a sealant and color, making it very hard and protected against scratches and moisture.
